This incredible camera can be used for super high resolution Regular and Infrared (IR) (X-RAY) photography.  The camera can even directly store MPEG movies directly on the movie stick up to 60 seconds long as well as output video (NTSC or PAL) to an external VCR or camcorder.

Externally, there are no visual changes. Internally, we have modified the optics so that the camera can see from 330nm to 1200nm versus a stock camera which can see from about 380nm to 750nm

The camera has a 7X Optical/14x Digital Zoom, swiveling lens, and bright sunlight viewable LCD panel in the back.  Images and movies are stored on the Sony Memory Sticks, Microdrives or Compact Flash type I & II,  and can be transferred via USB connection with supplied cable or by interchanging Memory.

Special Note:  Our modified cameras must use our XNite-CC1 color correction filter for normal (non-IR) pictures.  This modified camera is sensitive to both IR and visible light.  If you take pictures with no filters, the camera will see both the IR light and visible light which will alter the correct color balance.  To take normal pictures, use the camera with a XNite-CC1 filter to block IR and pass visible.  Please see example pictures on color balance here.  To take IR (X-Ray) pictures, you should use one of our XNite IR filters which block visible light and pass IR.

You need to order 58mm filters for this camera.   You will need to order an XNiteCC1 color correction filter for normal photography!  With no filter, this modified camera sees both infrared and visible light simultaneously.  58mm Filters are available Here.

Precise, brilliant images explode off the page with the Sony 8.0-megapixel digital camera. The four-color filter CCD renders colors as they should be—impressively life-like. The Real Imaging Processor™ captures images in time with you—it takes pictures faster than most 5.0-megapixel cameras. The high-quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar T* lens hones in on exquisite details with a 7x optical zoom. Use manual or automatic controls to create the amazing photos that only 8.0-megapixels can deliver.

Would you like us to convert your camera? We can convert your camera for $350 + return S&H ($20 insured UPS ground domestic USA).  Camera should be shipped well packed, insured, with lens cover and battery for testing.  Turnaround is typically 1 or 2 days depending on how busy we are.

Our Performance Guarantee  If you are not satisfied with your IR enabled camera, we will put it back to stock at no additional charge other than return shipping.
