A common question is "What cameras does the best in IR?". The answer is that they all perform fairly similarly in IR. You choice should be mostly driven by the other features of the camera you need such as Firewire interface, Zoom, Mini-DV, Memory Stick, etc. If you need the best IR sensitivity, the Hi-8 and D-8 cameras have a little better sensitivity to IR, but the performance is not so different that it is usually worth considering.
